The 15th Annual Pool Checkers Festival will be Saturday, November 9, 2013, at the Quality Inn (formerly called the Jameson Inn -- same location!), 215 Dixie Way S. in the town of Roseland, South Bend, Indiana 46637.  Right near the South Bend/Notre Dame exit from Interstate 80-90.

This Pool Checker Tournament is dedicated to two Chicago players who passed away this year and will be very much missed:

THERMAN "CHICKEN GEORGE" EARNEST, who was one of our most faithful participants ever since the first tournament here in 1999, playing every year except once or twice when his health condition did not permit;  and STONEY BURKE, a tireless organizer, head of the Chicago club, and assistant director at National Tournaments, who still worked for the Postal Service in his 70's with over 50 years of seniority.

Take the South Bend-Notre Dame Exit 77 from Indiana Toll Road I-80-90, turn left from ramp,

the Quality Inn is the 5th building on the left.

Saturday, Nov. 9 – American Pool Checkers

Defending champion: Al Lambert

Sunday, Nov. 10 – International (Big-Board) Checkers

Defending champion: Johnnie Coleman

--Sunday event will be played in Wendy's Restaurant across the street, 320 Dixie Way S.

Entry fee $20 for one day, $30 for both days.

Register 9:30 a.m., begin at 10.  Round robin or Swiss format.

  Two divisions if sufficient entries, divided by “South Bend Ratings” from previous years.

 90% of entry fees will go into prize fund.  Place prizes and special bonus for game scores!
